Inuit Print and performance

Inuit guarantees excellent print performance on all major processes. For best results, we recommend the following:

Screen ruling

For optimum performance, a screen ruling of 150dpi should be used. Finer screens - of up to 200dpi - can also give good results with careful ink density control. Under colour removal may be necessary if you're printing dark colour images with a heavy ink density. This will also help with drying times.

Printing inks

Conventional, positive-drying inks of fully oxidising inks should be used. Avoid using overnight/stay fresh/duct-stable inks when high-volumes of ink are required (eg. dark four-colour images). In these cases, it is essential to use fully oxidising inks for Inuit Ultra Smooth. Use 20 micron anti set-off spray powder for paper-weights and 35 micron powder for boards.

Blind embossing

Inuit can be blind embossed easily and gives excellent, attractive results.

Foil blocking

Inuit is perfectly suitable for foil blocking. Foil blockers can recommend the best foil for the particular image and paper.

Silk screen

Both Inuit finishes can be successfully silk screened.

Folding and creasing

Prior creasing on the board weights is recommended. Creases should be parallel to the grain direction. For best results, a creasing rule matrix should be used. As ever, fold into the bead and away from the indentation for prominent folds.
